We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in procedures using Open Dental.
• Schedule appointments efficiently, coordinate with clinical staff, and manage calendar updates to optimize patient flow.
• Handle patient inquiries via phone and in person with professional phone etiquette and excellent customer service skills.
• Collect and process payments, insurance information, and perform medical billing using health insurance knowledge including Medicare, HIPAA compliance, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical collection procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records, review documentation for completeness, and ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, typing (including 10-key), filing medical records, and managing office supplies.
• Support clinical staff by reviewing care plans, updating electronic health records (EHR), and ensuring proper documentation review for accuracy.
• Use computer skills to operate EMR/EHR systems like Open Dental efficiently.
• Uphold health information management standards by adhering to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality policies at all times.

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental or medical office environment is highly preferred, especially with dental clinic experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Open Dental is essential.
• Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures including Medicare claims processing and insurance verification.
• Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding for accurate documentation review and billing purposes.
• Excellent customer service skills combined with effective phone communication and office management abilities.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
• Proven clerical experience involving appointment scheduling, medical records management, and administrative support in healthcare settings.
